I am an avid amateur photographer and traveler. I am retired after more than four decades of practicing law where I learned the art of writing legal memorandums, briefs, letters, and file notes all of which were dry expressions of facts and law. When traveling I wrote messages to family and others who had expressed an interest that described our adventures in more colorful ways, and these eventually included photographs. This web site arose from these endeavors.
I am not trying to sell anything, I have no relationship with anyone else trying to sell anything, and I don’t pretend to be an expert in anything but the art of expressing my own observations. While some of my posts might prove useful to other travelers, I would recommend the application of a huge grain of salt and a reliance on one’s own research. I have personal preferences for photography that range from the technical to a simple phone, all depending on the circumstances and what I have available. The trick is to present what I thought I saw or perhaps what I wanted to see.
As my site has developed over time, I have expanded my observations to include comments about culture, politics, and religion that are well beyond where I began so many years ago. It’s likely that I’ll include comments about the equipment that I use for photography as well since it’s an integral part of the travel experience for me.
This site is intended for the amusement of any readers I might have although I hope some might find it useful in other ways.
